All temptation begins in the mind, it is then our decision if we want to let it be fed or if we will take on the temptation and kill it. I know first hand that when I gave into a temptation it NEVER was worth it after it was said and done. Think of Adam and Eve–before they ate from the tree of good and evil there was no shame, but instantly when they ate, all changed, and they realized they were naked, and they ran and hid. You know those dreams when you walk into a building and you are naked–you feel all alone, you want to hide and put clothes on, but can not find a way out. Temptation is a trap–but there is good news–”no temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will ALSO provide A WAY OUT so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Cor. 10:13
This past weekend the enemy was tainting my mind with thoughts that were ungodly….I had to wrestle with God in scripture, prayer, and crying. I literally was sick to my stomach from these awful thoughts. But, feeding my flesh is selfish, and is not of love. If it is not of love, it is not of God. And for that reason, I want nothing to do with it. And after a very hard day yesterday–this morning the Lord reminded me of these sweet…sweet…words–
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:22-25
If you do not have an accountability group or someone you know you can trust to share temptations with–I suggest you do. We need to keep our marriages safe from the luring lies of satan. There IS power in prayer…..there is power in prayer…..there is power in prayer…..

Mat 26:41 ”Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

“Temptation is the feeling we get when encountered by an opportunity to do what we innately know we shouldn’t.”

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not day from any tree in the garden? Gen 3:1


In the matter of minutes….all can change once giving into whatever temptation you may struggle with….guilt lays upon you…and you two decisions–choose good to pick you back up….or choose death that continues to bring you down the path of destruction.











If we believe we are strong and not vulnerable, this is when we need to be cautious and searching our heart whether it is with God, other fellow christians, friends, or someone you truly trust.
Protect your marriage. Love your spouse the way they need to be loved. If you do not know, look at the ways they show love to you. We show love to others the way we want to be loved. Here is some food for thought, that may be eye opening….adultery does not always happen with some other beautiful/handsome person….we will seek and get what we are lacking in our marriage somewhere else, whether the other person is attractive or not…
