Capturing my children everyday with my camera comes naturally, as I want them to have these memories to look back on whenever they want to. But, today I was able to look at them in a new light as I was scrolling through Facebook during our “snow days”, and two things…. 1. I was reminded why I rarely get on Facebook due to a lot of negative comments. And it seemed I kept reading how so many people were going stir crazy at home with their kids…sure I get it, they have a lot of energy, a lot more of an imagination that we have forgotten we once had and still have, we just don’t condition it anymore. These precious little minds want to explore, they want to engage, they want to laugh, they want to learn, and they want to see beautiful things appear right before their eyes….
Yes all day yesterday we kept looking out our window, waiting for the snow that was suppose to come. And when the sleet slowly started trickling down into snow, my heart began to race, my kids eyes got bigger..we were blaring the song, Let it Go…while me wearing an old prom dress and Abigail in one of her favorite princess dresses, And we said Jaden was Olaf, but he refused and said no…”me a boy” Can’t argue with that. But, it was then, while dancing and twirling, laughing and singing this is what God tells us each and everyday…..
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
And then I came across someone quoting this: To be in your child’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today……
I took these snow days as blessings in disguise to cherish all day fun inside with my kids….hot chocolate, bubble baths (with coloring) , turning rooms into the biggest forts ever, baking, snuggles….the list is endless when you put 2 toddler minds and a momma that loves to have fun together. I hope you all are enjoying your precious little ones. Their minds are a sponge, ready to take in all around them and beyond…..
